THE PERILS OF OLD AGE

Andrew Lugg writes to point out that although in my story about meeting Marcuse, I attribute to Quine the example "the present king of France is bald," it is in fact Russell's example. He is quite right. Quine discusses the problem [in Two Dogmas ...], but in fact seems not to use Russell's example there. It just goes to show you what falls out of the mind after half a century. Sigh. Thank you, Andrew.

If I'm not mistaken, Quine's discussion of the problem is in "On What There Is", not "Two Dogmas".
